Lily of the Valley Orphanages:
Bizzimom Planners “Charity of Choice”
( A portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Lily of the
Valley Orphanages)
It is my heartfelt belief that God never intended for
children to have to grow up in poverty, abuse and suffering.
In many regions of the world this is a commonality.
Every child is precious and deserves to be given the
basic necessities of shelter, food, and love. The vision
of Lily of the Valley is to rescue children from desperate
situations and bring them into their home to be loved,
nurtured and fed both physically and spiritually.
In 1988, John and Marie Sorrentino found themselves in
San Diego, California, only minutes from the Mexican border.
At the time they were pastoring a church.
After several visits to the impoverished neighborhoods
in Tijuana where little children were living in the most
severely inhumane conditions, John and Marie knew that
Lord had told then that the time was right to begin to
do something.
There are literally thousands of abandoned children that
run the streets struggling somehow to survive by begging,
stealing, and working in conditions many times worse than
slavery. Some of these children live in garbage dumps often
without their parents. Rampant sexual abuse, emotional
trauma and hunger are not uncommon here.
Through an incredible series of miracles, the Lily of
the Valley Orphanage started with 11 children in Playas
de Tijuana, Mexico.
Since that time, Lily of the Valley has grown and flourished
with the blessing of the Lord. They now operate two orphanages
- one in Tijuana and one in Chihuahua. Hundreds of destitute,
hopeless little children from the streets and dumps of
Mexico have been healed and saved.
I have personally met this precious couple and wholeheartedly
support them in all that they do everyday. The stories
and testimonials they have shared through the years make
me cry~ every time!
