-5 QUICK TIME MANAGEMENT TIPS-

1. Are You Frustrated Because You Can Never Seem To Find a Pair of
Scissors When You Need Them?

- Whether it's a pair of scissors or a roll
of tape, nothing can be more frustrating than having to hunt for
frequently used items.

- Save yourself time and frustration by keeping these items in a
home of their own in a practical location where they are most often
used.

-Buy a few extras and stash them in a hiding place quick
replacements. For example, I always keep an extra pair of scissors
in the kitchen drawer designated for baggies
and other food wraps.

-Ask yourself what it is that you can never seem to find, and then
make a permanent home for it!

2. Does Even the THOUGHT of Paying Bills Make You Feel Stressed?

-Let's face it, paying bills is kind of like going to the dentist.
Plan to do your bills when you are hormonally happy and then mark
it down in your own calendars an appointment.

-Set up a Bill-Paying Center wherever you're most comfortable
paying bills.

-Stock an attractive basket or a plastic container with checks, stamps,
envelopes, pens, return address stamper and calculator, and throw
in your bills when they arrive.Even if you pay bills online you can
keep supplies organized this way.

-Finally, turn on some good music, pour your favorite beverage
and avoid all other distractions.

3.Taking a Regular Time-Out Can Do Wonders!

- Believe it or not, taking a solid break from life when you're
feeling overwhelmed and can't seem to focus on anything is the
prescription for productivity.(especially for moms)

-Designate a daily quiet time and write it down in your
planner. Think of it as an appointment that you simply can not
miss.

-Accept no phone calls, visitors or interruptions during your
"appointment". It's very easy to just pick up the phone when it rings.
Practice allowing your answering machine or voice mail to pick it up.

You may be amazed at how rejuvenated and focused you
will feel afterwards!

4. Don't Run Around Like a Chicken with Your Head Cut Off!

-Save time and gas money by consolidating errands.
Choose one day or evening for errands. Write down all the errands
you need to run in your planner and stick to it.

-It's even better if you can run the errands during off peak hours
avoiding traffic, long lines and congestion.

- Errand Pool: Share errands with a friend.Share your "errand time"
with others by asking if your friend needs stamps, items from the
warehouse store etc...It's worth it to collaborate errands with a
friend. In the end you'll save both time and money!

5. A Planner Won't Help You If You Don't Use It!

-I've heard so many moms tell me that they would be lost without
their planner. If you haven't already, try and make a commitment
to yourself to use your planner and all of its benefits!

-Use your To-Do Lists!  What can you do in five or ten minutes?
How often are you waiting for your kids to get out of a class
or practice?

-Write a note, make a call, make an appointment, read an article,
close your eyes, clean out your car,or even remove that remaining
nail polish that you put on your toes 3 months ago? (yup--that's me)

I can assure you that your life will BE much more organized!
It's not too late to get yourself organized with a good planner
that can go everywhere you go:

Are YOU Ready?? :)

** Tammy's Secret Homemade Italian Sauce**

Now everyone has a "secret sauce"... I'm going to
share mine with you! After all it's only nice to share.

My husband absolutely loves my homemade sauce. I hope you will too!
Here is what you'll need:

a large pot ( preferably with a nonstick surface)

8 cloves of fresh garlic

salt ( I use sea salt)

~1 tsp black pepper(freshly ground is nice)

~1 tsp oregano

extra virgin olive oil

2-3 handfuls of fresh basil leaves torn into pieces

~3/4 cup fresh or grated parmesan cheese

2 cans (28oz.) of crushed tomatoes

2 cans (28oz.) of plum tomatoes

~1-2 lbs. of freshly ground hot Italian
sausage

Turn on burner to med-low.
Simply, coat the bottom of your pot with about 1/4 inch of extra
virgin olive oil

Using a garlic press add the cloves to the pan. Allow garlic to
soften (don't burn).

Use a wooden spoon to stir. Add all of the cans of tomatoes.
Throw in the remaining ingredients accept for the sausage.

Stir and raise the heat to med-high allowing the sauce to
come to a slow boil while stirring, then turn down to low.

While the sauce is doing its thing, cook the sausage in a frying pan.
Drain the fat and then place the sausage on top of a double or
triple paper towel lined dinner plate to remove some more of the
grease.

Add the sausage to the sauce and stir. Allow the sauce to cook on
low and stir occasionally. After a few hours, taste and add more
salt, pepper or other spices to your liking.

Sometimes I'll throw in a little more
cheese at this point. The longer you cook it the better it
is---period.

So, if you know you'll be home one day you may want to
start it in the morning.Your home will smell SO good by the
afternoon!

I often save myself even more time and money by doubling
the recipe and freezing the extras in ziploc freezer bags in family
sized portions.

It defrosts well by placing the bag in a pot of cool water
and tastes so much better than sauce in a jar!

Don't know what's for dinner tonight? Grab a bag of your homemade
sauce from your freezer and boil up a little whole grain pasta.

Add a salad and voila! Let me know how you like it. If you have any
recipes that you would like me to share with our readers send them in.

In case you missed it last time, here is an article on how you can
make your own Recipe Binder for free!

I was thoroughly impressed with my sister-in-law's binder,
and so I decided to start one myself!

P.S. SAFETY TIP:

Don't EVER place a wooden utensil in the dishwasher!
Hmm-Hmm...My husband almost burned down the house last month after
a wooden spoon was placed on the top rack and fell down to the
drying coil and burned. Thankfully, I smelled it upon return home
from work late one evening!

BIZZI-2-GO PLANNER TIP:

- I've recently added some of the adhesive pockets to the monthly
tab dividers and here is what I've been doing:

   1. On an index card I recorded my user names and passwords
of sites I frequent.Careful not to reveal the website in its
entirety, this has been an awesome trick with easy access.
The index cards fit perfectly in the pocket.

   2. I tuck the "definite" coupons that I'll use in the monthly
pocket for easy visible access on my next trip to the grocery
store. How many times have you kicked yourself for not grabbing
that $1.00 coupon? A hundred times is a 100 bucks!

   3. Last month I also tucked a new recipe in the pocket so that
when I went to the store I had immediate access to the list of
      ingredients needed.

If you'd like a few more pockets you can get them here:

IS YOUR CHILD AT RISK? YOU MAY BE SURPRISED!

I will be resuming the Child Safety Series with enthusiasm this year.
If you have children or you care about children, you will NOT want to
miss this series.

In the next few months you're invited to view an in depth look
at how technology is robbing our children. From young children
to young adults, our children are in extreme danger.

I thought I had it all figured out--but I DIDN'T.
Take this brief quiz that I found on http://clicks.aweber.com/y/ct/?l=Mhn4_&m=1bfav2wYWdOaez&b=nTkayHiwS463MF.oQ52mFw
under "parents". Here are a few of the questions on the quiz:

I currently use parental controls or other content blocking
software to ensure my children's Internet safety.

I actively monitor my children's computer use.

My children use their computer when no adult is at home.

My children are home alone after school.

My children use MySpace or similar teen chat sites.

My children have placed personal photos or videos on the web.

My children have a "camera-ready" cell phone.

My children use the web unsupervised at their friends' houses.

My children use instant messaging and/or text messaging.

My children have their own email accounts.

My children belong to an interactive gaming community.

My children have previously visited an Internet pornography website.

My children have previously met someone in person, whom they
originally met on the Internet?

Now you may not honestly know the answers to all of these questions,
but there are ways to find out. I invite you to join me in an effort
to save our children by simply continuing to read the newsletter.
You might want to consider forwarding this on to your family and
friends so that they can benefit as well.
