Hi! My name is Tammy Matthews, a.k.a. "Bizzimom".
I'm your typical busy mom, married with three children
and live in upstate New York.
In addition to my workload here at Bizzimom Planners,
I've been working part-time as an R.N. to help cover
some of my costs.
So how did an ordinary mom with no formal business background
venture into the business world?
Simply put, I became increasingly frustrated with the
previous day planners and other mom organizers that were
out there. Although some of them did have some pretty
neat features, they lacked the practical space and function
that I so desperately needed.
As my three children have grown, so have their ever-changing
schedules and activities. I realized that the schedule
of a busy mom was anything but 9 to 5. Running out of
space on my daily calendar, missing appointments and
practices started to become a stressor.
Frequently I found myself wandering around the calendar/
planner and organizer sections of many stores, on a mission
to find the "ideal
planner". Many of you moms out there can probably relate to the multi-planner
juggle, the wall calendars, the pocket calendars etc...
In 2004 , a "light bulb" moment happened one
day while sipping my coffee. Within a year I designed
a prototype of what I considered to be the ideal planner
for moms.
The Bizzimom Planner (currently known as the Bizzi2Go™ Planner) was created, having a flip-out design which
affords a generous amount of writing space with a full
monthly view. Being a visual planner, I found it to be
incredibly helpful to see the month before me! Both sides
of the flip-out design of each month are used to maximize
space and increase its practical function. Its design
also allowed me to fit it easily in my purse to go wherever
I went! No more missed appointments and enough space
to keep it all in one place!
You may find the home page of the web site to portray
the illusion of a "big corporation". I assure
you I am not (yet )! :0) The photo displayed is actually
our own kitchen table placed in front of our fireplace!
Our dining room has been borrowed as an office/post office.
The coat closet has been converted into an office supply
center and simple shelving units downstairs act as a
mini-warehouse. I think you get the picture~
If you call customer service, chances are unless it's
1 am EST, you'll speak directly with me. I love to hear
from other moms!
With the help of my husband, children, friends and loyal
customers, I will continue to press on! I thank God for
the blessings in my life.
